Alorian W. Haire and Angie Williams
Some of my earliest memories are of mama and myself baking in the kitchen. These recollections of past times bring with them times of happiness and gratification in the smallest of tasks. It's been our dream to own a bakery of our own and have been working out of either my, or her house.
For awhile, we went around Colquitt, Bainbridge, and Donalsonville, laden with baskets brimming with our homemade goodies. Many of the people began calling us "The Goodie Ladies," and more often than not, we were compared to Paula Deen, who was deemed "The Bag Lady," because of her selling her food to hospitals in bags, same as us. We usually sold out within a day or two, but soon our schedule became too hectic to continue. But our dream still lives on.
With the recent passing of our uncle, I had no trouble "naming" our little business. Our Uncle Cecil Josey always said I should name it "Lori's Sweets," so that I did. I decided to make this website and hope that perhaps some of you guys have tasted our treats and are willing to give us a call! –– Lori
